Much like yourselves I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of the latest Flying Lotus album Cosmogramma, and it has been a well worth the wait. Just from opening the LP sleeves of Cosmogramma I can immediately tell a heck of a lot of love and time has gone into this release. The exceptional multilayered compositions and loosely swung cracks and claps of the signature Flylo drums are back again only this time it seems his music has matured ten fold. Unlike the fuzzed out cyber hip hop of his last work Los Angeles, the depth of influences on this work is what makes it such a diverse and beautiful album. Just had to share this new Nike ad with everyone, featuring a live performance by Hifana a Japanese breakbeat duo know for their experimental and creative live performances. Clever editing? Advanced technology or combination of both? Its hard to tell at this point, but let us know what you think? Amazing stuff!

It’s bangin son

A mate of mine sent me this link of some wikid experimental live beat making. Apparently it took 2 weeks of practice and 7 hours of recording to get a good take.

This style of beat making isn’t particularly new but its always interesting to see someone else’s take on percussion and sampling. Here’s a couple of other videos that sprung to mind when I saw “Techno Jeep”.
