Inaudible beats

Huess
Huess is an up and coming UK talent signed to Inaudible Answer and he’s sure to make a big splash with his latest release, I’d rather be hunter. We’ve been lucky enough to grab a preview track from this release to share with everyone! Radiating similar vibes to other up and comers like Bullion with his multi layered, swung tempo compositions and skillfully mutilated vocals you can expect many comparisons to hip hop heavy weights like Flying Lotus and J Dilla.

Look out!

For those of you not in the know prepare to be shocked and amazed! This coming Friday 2nd of April for the Easter long weekend the Coronet is holding the launch party for one of the biggest festivals of the year. In fact it’s the only festival that that specifically belts out our favourite Dubstep, Hip Hop and Big Bass music tunes along the beautiful beaches of Croatia. In 2010 the festival will grace Punta christo, an abandoned fort used in the eighteen hundreds with stages build around dugeons, and old ruins its going to experience to remember for the rest of your days.

Might just sick a hobo on ya

Now I might be a bit slow off the bat with this one but I’ve been hearing this track on quite few mixtapes over the past few months Hudson Mohawke’s Essential and Debruit’s FACT mix to name a couple….. so I thought I’d investigate it a bit further and it turns out there’s an amazing story behind the funky beat your about to hear.

Red

This is the story of Red a homeless beatboxer from Los Angeles who was discovered practicing his unique talents in the car park of HVW8 Gallery a design and photography studio.

And you thought hip hop was dead…

Stumbled across this on youtube, amazing stuff! Bascially it’s a fretless fader system that controls a Vestax Controller One, similar to the way a trombone works. Dope shit!

Un-steady Hop and you don’t stop

debruit

Hailing from Brittany in France but now a London Local dÉbruit is a talented french producer banging out some of the best wonky, electro synth soaked beats this side of the globe. In his words “I’m dEbruit, synth breeder, beat baker and rhythm keeper. I make music in styles you can’t name and a genre that doesn’t exist…”

Combining elements of 80s hip hop, west coast electro funk and a huge array of world music into a disjointed groove dÉbruit really is a head of the curve even in the newly emerging “wonky” scene. He’s part of the Musique Large crew which is also home to Fulgeance who pumps out slighty more bass heavy grimey “un-steady hop”.

Now here’s one of dÉbruit’s earlier stand out tracks that will have you groovin’ all the way to the movies Bang’s style.

This goes out to all my hiphop heads

With Wu-tang releasing a hip hop/dubstep crossbreed album, Hudson Mohawke bringing us his unique style of electro-crunky-wonk-hop with hit debut album Butter and Raekwon the Chef bringing us yet another awesome album, 2009 hasn’t just been a huge year for electronic music it’s been a massive year for hip hop too (that’s right folks it’s not dead yet!).

On that note a talented UK DJ by the name of Chris P Cuts has put together a mix to mark closing of yet another decade of hip hop. Chris P has been active in the London scene for a number of years now, his latest mix is called “Going in 2009″ and it sure is tasty stuff. It’s got all the best hip hop joints from 2009 with a few leftfield electronic numbers thrown in for good measure. Enjoy it!

A Decade of Cali beats

I’m not going to dwell on Flying Lotus for too long, as everyone probably already knows just how interesting and varied his productions are and has no doubt seen him live at some point in the last few years, if not I highly recommend checking out his shows.

Top of the pops!

lostmeshit

I’m not gonna make a big thing about the best tracks of 2009 just yet…..

But over the last week with Rage against the machine performing live on BBC5 and eventually winning their battle against the evil Simon Cowell by topping the UK charts for christmas ’09 as well as talk going around about the best songs of the last decade I feel empowered to share a few tracks with you.
