I’ve been meaning to post about this stunning video and soundtrack for quite sometime, but it has been left on the back burner, so here goes. Another outstanding Los Angeles experimental hip hop producer Dr Strangeloop recently had a mix featured on Mary Anne Hobbs experimental show on the BBC Radio 1 a few months back, Strangeloop has also released an outstanding video project called “2010: [or] How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Technological Singularity” to accompany it, memorizing stuff!! You can still grab a limited edition signed DVD from the Institue for cinema Studies for only $15.
Rumour has it that Dr Strangeloop was actually the first artist to teach Flying lotus how to make electronic music on a computer back in art school and was a huge influence in his early works. He’s currently working on an album under the Brainfeeder stamp too so expect some more amazing stuff from Strangeloop soon.

Much like yourselves I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of the latest Flying Lotus album Cosmogramma, and it has been a well worth the wait. Just from opening the LP sleeves of Cosmogramma I can immediately tell a heck of a lot of love and time has gone into this release. The exceptional multilayered compositions and loosely swung cracks and claps of the signature Flylo drums are back again only this time it seems his music has matured ten fold. Unlike the fuzzed out cyber hip hop of his last work Los Angeles, the depth of influences on this work is what makes it such a diverse and beautiful album. Expect a journey through psychedelic cosmic disco, avant jazz, electro funk and soul. …continue reading Sensual cosmic ear fondle

Huess is an up and coming UK talent signed to Inaudible Answer and he’s sure to make a big splash with his latest release, I’d rather be hunter. We’ve been lucky enough to grab a preview track from this release to share with everyone! Radiating similar vibes to other up and comers like Bullion with his multi layered, swung tempo compositions and skillfully mutilated vocals you can expect many comparisons to hip hop heavy weights like Flying Lotus and J Dilla.

I’m not going to dwell on Flying Lotus for too long, as everyone probably already knows just how interesting and varied his productions are and has no doubt seen him live at some point in the last few years, if not I highly recommend checking out his shows.
