It’s bangin son

A mate of mine sent me this link of some wikid experimental live beat making. Apparently it took 2 weeks of practice and 7 hours of recording to get a good take.

This style of beat making isn’t particularly new but its always interesting to see someone else’s take on percussion and sampling. Here’s a couple of other videos that sprung to mind when I saw “Techno Jeep”.

Coldcut’s track “Timber” from their 1997 album “Let’s play Again. Comprised almost entirely of recorded live sound samples…. Again it’s best watched with the video for reference.

And also this advert that was commissioned by Nike back in 2001, the soundtrack is produced by Afrika Bambaataa and Hydraulic Funk using only samples from the basketball court.
